When I met Brian Vickers,
it really was an awesome day. I had been a racing fan for about a year when I did get the chance to meet him. My daddy
got me loving the thrill of NASCAR racing in about May of 2005. I admit, at first, all I watched it for was the wrecks.
Then, I started to become a fan of Dale Jr. After awhile, Dale Jr. I guess became sort of boring. Now, you
Junior fans, I love Junior, he just isn't my favorite. I started to be a Brian Vickers fan in about October
of 2005. I guess Brian just took over. I liked that he wasn't that popular. He had never won a race or anything. Brian sort of became the driver I cheered for from that point on. I thought he was so nice and he went
out there and just tried his best.
Then, at the fall race on Richmond of 2006, I missed school
just so we could travel from our hometown to Richmond the night before which was a Thursday. I went to Richmond once before
and didn't have such a great time, but we decided to go again anyway once I found out that Brian was signing autographs.
When we arrived at the racetrack on Friday, I was so
excited! We arrived at about 9:00 a.m. Brian's trailer wasn't even open yet! We walked around and waited for like 3 hours
to just get a ticket so I could meet him. The woman that was working there was very nice. She gave me the first ticket. Finally,
though at around 3:00 p.m., Brian was at his trailer, signing. I about died when he rode by us on a golf cart. I
was finally going to meet the driver that I cheered for every single week. When it was my turn
to get an autograph, I was so nervous, excited, thrilled. What more could I say? My sister was in line ahead of me and she
got an autograph and then it was my turn. My mom asked if Brian would get a picture with me later and he did. Brian was so,
so, so, nice. He treats his fans very well. Brian posed for a picture with me and his arm was even around me.(His
arm was around me becuase my mother told him to "hug" me!) It was my birthday the next week and he even wished me a happy
birthday. It really was the greatest day ever! I guess you could say that I picked the right driver. I hate it when people push
him around too. Not only because he's my favorite, it's just that he is so nice and sweet. The picture he took of
me is actually hanging up in my room and locker at school. I really don't know why it is blurry because it is clear
in every other copy that I have of it. I guess it doesn't matter though. I just thought that I would post this up
on my website. Brian is really what you would think he would be. Nice, kind, everything. Brian Vickers sure
stands out in the crowd. Not with the wins, the popularity, but, he does stand out to me as the greatest driver.
